Lessons From My Other Mom

May 9, 2010

A Short (and incomplete) List of Things I’ve Learned From John’s Mom

*  Look for all the fun in life.

*  Nothing is more important, or more worth fighting for, than family.

*  Camping is the best way to bring a family together.

*  A little sugar in the spaghetti sauce makes all the difference.

*  Having it all has nothing to do with material things.

*  A brisk walk in the morning can make your whole day.

*  The human heart knows no limits.

*  It’s never to late to discover new hobbies and passions.

*  Sometimes the best parties are the ones where everyone is wearing comfy clothes and eating off of paper plates.

*  There is nothing a mom won’t do for her children.

I am so thankful that my fabulous husband came complete with two absolutely wonderful parents.  My life would not be the same without you, Mom.  Thanks for all the ways you have taught me how to be a good wife and mother.  Happy Mother’s Day!

Hooray for Mother’s Day and hooray for all the wonderful mothers out there!
