Super-Easy Painted Plates

August 20, 2010

Goodness!  Where have these pens been all my life?!?  Porcelain paint pens completely ROCK!  In less than 10 minutes I transformed a plain white plate (from the Dollar Store) into this cutie:

And you want to know the best part?  If you don’t like your artwork, you can just wipe it off with a damp paper towel!  Once you’re happy with your design, you simply let it dry for 24 hours, then pop it in a cold oven and set the temperature to 300.  Once the oven reaches 300 degrees, set the timer for 35 minutes.  Let your creation cool in the oven.  Remove and enjoy using your new completely cute useable art!

This is definitely a project you can do with the kiddos!

This is week #1’s 4 Simple Goals creative challenge project (here).  One down, 19 to go!

Happy Creating!

Where did you get the pens? That would be something fun to do for Tyler’s b-day or Christmas! You always have such fun ideas.

Thanks, Heather! I found the pens at Michael’s. They come in packs or you can buy individual colors for about the same price. Have fun!!
