Playing Dress Up

October 17, 2010

So yesterday I took the girls over to our favorite little store in downtown Neenah, Vintique.

Vintique is filled with vintage and vintage-inspired clothes, shoes, accessories and other goodies.  It’s like a candy store for vintage-lovers.

Maddie and I had stopped by there on Monday during our little Mom and Maddie time, but we didn’t have enough time to try anything on.  We decided we’d head back over yesterday and have fun playing dress up.  With the holidays and a big birthday celebration on the horizon, the girls are in need of a special dress.  I got to play stylist to two incredibly fun, beautiful, easy-to-dress ladies–it was so fun!

We all loved this blue dress on Emily:

It’s kind of hard to see in the picture, but there are flowers all over the top.  It’s really pretty, and “grown-up” without being inappropriate.  If she got this one, I’d probably get her a little beaded sweater or something to wear over it.

Maddie fell in looove with this gray number:

Doesn’t she look dynamite (and old??).  Unfortunately, she needed a small, and they didn’t have one.  Hopefully they can still get one.

She also loved this cute number:

It was on the clearance rack–too good a deal to pass up.  It came home with us!  She’ll be able to wear both pieces with lots of other things.  (Don’t you love those socks?)

I thought Emily looked stunning in this dress:

The color was perfect for her.  Unfortunately, Emily’s 6′, and this dress was just a little too short.   Bummer, because I loved it.

Both girls also humored me and tried on some vintage pieces.  I looooved this “Marsha Brady” dress on Emily, but she was not crazy about it:

Doesn’t she look adorable?!?

I love playing with my girlie-girls!

What did you do this weekend?
