Halloween Invities//2010

October 21, 2010

Yahoo!  This year’s Halloween invites are all out!  I wanted to do a “poisin” bottle invite, but after much deliberation, I decided to scrap using the colored water (I imagined very messy bottles by the time the invites travelled from home to backpack, from backpack to school, from school to backpack and back home again) and just used fun Halloween shreads instead.  The little bottles came from WalMart (3 for $2) and the skull and crossbones came from Michaels.  Amy and I used Aileen’s craft glue to attach the wooden crossbones to the side of the bottles and then tied little polka-dot ribbon on (because everything is cuter with a bow!).

The actual invites are just white cardstock.  John burned the sides for me (he’s so great!) to give the invites a spooky look.  Then we rolled the paper and stuck it into the bottles with a little shread sticking out.

Voila!  Easy and cute!  Stay tuned for more details to come!

Wow, if we did Halloween parties, I’d be lifting this idea…as is!

Thanks, Amy! You need to come on over–I’m making cupcakes in a jar and I’m pretty sure one will have your name on it! XO
