Dear Mr. Frost, Can We Please Have a Snowday?

January 28, 2011

Hello, Friends!

Contrary to popular belief, those of us up in Wisconsin have not had a very snowy winter thus far.  In fact, I’ve spied plenty of brown patches peeking through what little snow we do have.  The blogs are full of all kinds of east coast winter-wonderland photos, but in the upper midwest, we haven’t even had a single snow day!

What’s the deal, Jack Frost?

Yesterday I spotted these *adorable* snowball fight survival kits and I’m dying to throw some together for the neighborhood kids.  Unfortunately, all we have up here is crusty, stomped-down snow.  We need a good old-fashion snowstorm so our kids can get out there and start packing some good snowballs.  And build a fort.  We haven’t had a single snow fort in our yard this winter, and it’s the end of January for Pete’s sake!

Come on, Jack!  Send some love our way!

Is is snowy where you are?

Hi! Thanks for stopping by my blog, and for the post on my pinwheels! 🙂 I just read your ‘random Thurs.’ post– loved it!! (And, hello? These snowball kits? We could use some in Connecticut right now…)

It was the pictures of your kiddos climbing and playing on your roof that made me pine for a big snowstorm!! I loved that you let them do that–they’ll probably remember that for the rest of their lives! (And if not…you captured all the fun perfectly!) I’m so glad you stopped by–please come again! : )

Next time I see Jack I will send him your way. Here in North Carolina we’ve used FIVE snow days already. Granted we close at the first sign of a flake but still we’ve had two storms with accumulations above 5 inches which is a blizzard around here.

Oh, boy, 5 snow days is a lot–you might be heading into summer break with 5! I’d settle for one or two. : )

hey… did this turn out for you? get any recent additions, snow-inches wise, out on your front door step? do you suppose all the fine folks of Wisc (and the midwest!) want to come thank you for posting this Wishful Request? ;o)

You know what?!? The storm pretty much missed us. We only got 3 inches and then the gusty winds blew those three inches around and around. We definitely got gipped!! : )
