Feeling Lucky

March 17, 2011

Hi Friends!

I’m not Irish, but I’m still feeling lucky today, especially in light of what is still going on in Japan (and now they have freezing temperatures and snow!).  I feel lucky that I live in the middle of Wisconsin, in a safe and warm house and that all my basic needs are met.  I have the same feelings I had after 911–I am incredibly sad for all of those who are searching for loved ones (can you even imagine??) and for those trying to regroup after the monumental devastation to their lives.  I find myself watching the news all the time and it just doesn’t seem to get any better.

Today I’m also worried about our troops who are over there to help with the search and rescue missions, especially those in helicopters hovering around the nuclear spills.   I am so proud of our troops and the fact that America has pledged to help in any way possible.  That being said, I am anxious about what we are asking them to do.  Thank God for each and every brave soldier;  may all of those who are over there to help return home safe and sound.

Hope you’re feeling lucky (and blessed) today, too.

I can’t watch the news without ending up in tears, the earthquake, the tsunami and now radiation. How much more can the people of Japan take. So sad! And makes me so thankful for what we have!
